Symmetrical Antioxidant and Antibacterial Properties of Four Romanian Cruciferous Extracts
نویسندگان
چکیده
Four alcoholic extracts from Romanian Cruciferous species—cabbage, acclimatized broccoli, black radish and cauliflower—were obtained in a microwave field. The showed good symmetric antioxidant activity (0.97–1.13 mmol/L TE) phenolic content (1001–1632 mg GAE/L). For the HPLC method, limit of detection (LOD), quantitation (LOQ) recovery degree were established. small values LOD LOQ indicated great fit data. method achieved satisfactory quantitative recoveries range 96%–122%, except for lowest sinigrin concentration (8.774 µg/mL). presence metals studied falls within allowed limits. four slightly asymmetric antibacterial activities against some Gram-positive Gram-negative bacteria, including strains with known resistance to antibiotics. Moreover, greater inhibitory effects exhibited bacteria. Asymmetrically, no inhibition was observed on fungal strains. Therefore, present results may suggest that extract formulas cabbage (presenting activity) might be helpful antimicrobial fight could successfully used selected cases

Phenolic compounds, antioxidant, and antibacterial properties of pomace extracts from four Virginia‐grown grape varieties
Grape pomace is a potential source of natural antioxidant and antimicrobial agents. Phenolic compounds, antioxidant, and antibacterial properties of pomace extracts from four Virginia-grown grape varieties were investigated. White grape pomaces had higher (P < 0.05) solvent extraction yield than red varieties. Concentrations of total phenolic (TPC), total flavonoid (TFC), total anthocyanin (TAC...

BACKGROUND In South Africa, Calpurnia aurea (Ait.) Benth is used to destroy lice and to relieve itches, to destroy maggots and to treat allergic rashes, particularly those caused by caterpillars. Antioxidants play an important role protecting against damage by reactive oxygen species. Plants containing flavonoids have been reported to possess strong antioxidant properties. METHODS The antibac...
